How to Feng
Shui Away the H1N1 Virus—Building Your Health for Longevity
Part Two
Feng Shui Away the H1N1 Virus – Six Solid and
Practical Tips to Consider During This Flu
Season
It stands
to reason that people who eat well on a regular basis
have a better chance of staying health through the flu
season. Eating foods that build your immune system is
good inner Feng Shui, and is something you’ll want to get
into the habit of doing all the
time.
- Step up the fruits and vegetables in your
diet. A neat trick to increase your
vegetable intake is to put the vegetables on your plate
first, and visually have them cover close to half the
plate. Also, try to eat vegetables at noon.
Doing this can positively impact your weight, especially if
you’re struggling to lose a few stubborn
pounds!
- Put the energy of food to work
for you. In addition to eating a healthy and
balanced diet, where your food is coming from originally
and how the food is prepared has a big impact on the degree
to which your body benefits from the food. Consume
organically grown foods whenever
possible.
- Food benefits you the most when
the cook is in a good mood. This may seem a little
strange to you at first, but if you are preparing and
cooking food in a bad mood, that negative energy is
“leeching” into the food!
This time of year it is especially
important to derive the greatest benefits from our
food…instilling negative vibes into the stew isn’t the way
to good health! Good food Feng Shui means preparaing and
cooking food in a healthy and happy frame of
mind.
- Take a high quality multi-vitamin
every day. Vitamins made from whole foods, devoid
of synthetic nutrients are my personal choice. It may take
some due diligence but try to source vitamins produced by
manufacturers that have stringent quality control measures
in place.
Here is one source I personally trust for
a Whole Foods
Multi Vitamin.
A good practice is to secure informed counsel
from a qualified, nutritionally trained health care expert who
is familiar with your medical history and any conditions you
may have. This person should have a suggestion for you when it
comes to a quality multivitamin, as well as other
supplements.
- Avoid stressful
situations. It’s time you took care of yourself in
as many loving ways as possible.
Is there a place in your home where you can
completely and totally relax, away from TV’s, phones…email and
doorbells? Try to create more downtime in your life. Slow your
pace, especially if you have a number of external demands upon
you. Take more bubble baths…engage in some therapeutic
massage…love yourself more.
- Protect
yourself and your loved ones. If you or a family
member begins experiencing flu symptoms, stay home and
rest! Of course, if you are experiencing any difficulty in
breathing, many physicians are advising to go immediately
to a medical clinic or emergency
room.
If you must go to a doctor’s appointment or
into a space where others may be infected with the
H1N1 flu, take extra precautions by wearing a mask and
making sure you wash your hands even more often. It is still
unclear how easily swine flu is passed between people, so
better to err on the side of caution.
SPECIAL UPDATE: In the first
article on
how to Feng Shui Away the H1N1 virus, I
mentioned a product that we were trying out for the first time
called “The Delta Sleep
Solution” by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson. I
absolutely love this product, especially the CD called
“Sleepy Ocean.” I just set it to repeat and it plays
all night!
I
personally suffered for years with insomnia and can tell you
from experiencing this product firsthand that I now sleep more
deeply and restfully than I have in years. I highly recommend
that you try this sleep product or give it as a gift to someone
you love who has trouble sleeping. Enjoy!
