Feng Shui Fountain – Two
Great Places to Locate in Your Home and Where to Avoid Placing
a Fountain
Having a Feng Shui fountain can beautify and
enhance your home, yard or garden. Fountains have become
popular products with Feng Shui enthusiasts because they embody
the Water Element, an ancient symbol of prosperity and one of
the Five key Elements in Feng Shui.
The location of your Feng Shui fountain can
play a key role in determining the quality of energy and
resources that will flow in your life. A fountain feature is
water in motion, which traditionally attracts wealth and career
success when placed correctly.
The Bagua
map is a tool used in Feng Shui that
helps people decide where to place certain features, such
as indoor water fountains. The Bagua map can be useful in
determining the appropriate and common sense placements
for your fountain that will give the greatest benefits,
and one location you definitely won’t want to put a
fountain!
One of the most ideal locations for an indoor
fountain is in the Career life region. You’ll know where to
find this region by the location of your front door. If you
face your home, would you say your front door is to the left,
center or more on the right side?
If your front door is more or less in the
center, when you enter your home you are entering the Career
life region. In western Feng Shui schools of thought you can
only have a front door opening on the lower portion of the map
– on the left into the Inner Knowledge and Self-Improvement
section, into the center where the Career region is located or
on the right where you find the Travel and Helpful People
region.

Bagua map and how to read it is covered in

Because the Water
Element finds its home in the Career region, it is only
natural that a water feature such as a fountain would be a
welcome addition. Much of Feng Shui is common
sense!
Water moving in a
fountain is a natural attractor of wealth and opportunities.
The moving water invites these ideals to “flow” into your
home in greater abundance!
The second region where you’ll want to
consider placing an indoor fountain is in the Prosperity and
Abundance region…also known as the Wealth region.
The principle of money flowing and
circulating toward you is the quality of energy you want to
have for this special area of your home. Consider locating a
home office in this portion of your home, if possible…and of
course, plan for a fountain!
OK…now that you’ve taken a
peek at the Bagua map, can you guess where a fountain might be
unwelcome? Think opposites – what is the opposite of water? Of
course, fire! Once again common sense will dictate that a poor
location and one to be avoided at all costs is the Fame,
Illumination and Reputation life region.
Too much Water element in
your Reputation region will drown the life goals associated
with this part of your life, so it is best to look at Fire
enhancements and colors for this area and steer clear of Water
Feng Shui cures!
I’ll be writing an article
on the wonderful benefits having an outdoor Feng Shui fountain
can provide in the days or weeks to come. Please check
