Feng Shui Bed
- 3 Top Bed Mistakes You Don't Want to Make
Feng Shui bed mistakes can be present and
causing you problems energetically without you knowing the
reason why. This article will outline what appears to be the
top three bed mistakes made by people, and what to do to
correct these Feng Shui boo boo's in your bedroom!
#1 - sleeping on a bed you don't
love. This may sound like a strange statement,
especially in relation to what most people think of as an
"inanimate" object - one's bed. The truth is, if you don't like
your bed...if you aren't comfortable with the way the mattress
feels, or the design of your bed isn't appealing to you, then
you aren't going to derive the greatest benefits from your
bed.
Ask yourself these simple
questions:
a) Is my bed inviting?
b) Do I feel rested after a night spent in
my bed?
c) Do I appreciate the energy that my bed
provides me?
d) Is my health suffering because of lack
of sleep?
Bottom line - you need to love your bed for
best Feng Shui results! If you don't receive the rest and
rejuvenation you need to receive from your bed...if your bed is
old and "tired" of supporting you, consider purchasing a new
one! Remember, 1/3rd of our lives are spent here!
#2 - sleeping on a bed that has
"energetic" accumulations from the past or other
people. This may also sound a bit strange at
first, but give me a chance to explain.
Let's suppose for a moment that you've had your
bed for awhile...say for 5 - 7 years. Let's say that during
that time, you had an intimate relationship with a lover that
didn't work out.
If you made love with this person in your bed
and now you are suffering from the hurt and pain of that broken
relationship, your bed is partly responsible for reminding you
of that pain. It could even be the reason why you haven't been
able to move forward in your love life.
What you may not realize is this - the bed is
"holding" the energy of this broken relationship...and it is
having an effect on you, whether you're aware of it or not! The
same principle applies to used beds because of the energies of
previous owners that still linger within them.
It is a big Feng Shui mistake to purchase a bed
that was previously owned...even if you know the person. Give
yourself a fresh start!
#3 - bed placed in the wrong
spot. This may seem trivial to some, but if you
study Feng Shui it is one of the most important considerations
you need to make when arranging your bedroom furniture. As your
bed is the most important piece of bedroom furniture that you
own, you want to make sure that you put it in a spot where it
will do you the most good energetically.
Where is this spot, you're wondering? The
optimal position is away from the bedroom door at a diagonal to
the door, but not tight into the corner of the room. You still
want to have space on both sides of your bed, even if you sleep
alone.
Where is the worst position? If you can avoid
it, never place your bed directly in line with the bedroom
door...(when you lie on your bed, if your feet are in direct
line with the door when it opens - this is the very worst).
The problem with this is what is known as
rushing or attacking Chi. Chi coming directly into your room
with nothing to slow it down is moving in a straight line. It
is effectively bowling into the bed and its occupants, which
can lead to compromised health over time.

Is your
bed comfortable and inviting? The bed in the photo above has
some good Feng Shui going for it in that it is inviting,
relatively new and the headboard is solid, giving extra support
to the sleepers. It is also not in the direct line of the door
that opens to the room. Another positive is the headboard is
solid but rounded...no sharp edges protruding. The end tables
also have rounded corners, a positive Feng Shui furniture
attribute.
Now is a
good time to check your bed. Think about your current bed
and whether or not it is supporting your health and
overall life goals, or if it is detracting from you
energetically.
There are more
feng shui bed mistakes to be aware of - the
three discussed in this article are some of the most
common and most important ones to fix sooner than
later.
